Sri Lankan masons are hard at work applying the SOS Stucco. Work continues on the stucco through day twelve and is nearly complete by the end of the day.

Due to local customs regarding the Bathroom, a revision changing the door location was easily made on site per request of the Homeowner, Nimal. Stucco application on the front of the house nears completion. Stone Equipment donated a mortar mixer (US$2,500 Value) which makes it much easier to mix the stucco on site. Day 13 ends with the exterior stucco base coat completed.

Day 14: Rain, rain, go away...

Saturday brought heavy rains in the morning. 60% of the crew, mostly masons, did not want to work even though areas were protected with tarps to keep them dry. The front window was installed in 20 minutes as the top coat of the stucco is applied. The front door is installed with customary lattice above openings allowing for natural ventilation. The rain, however, didn't slow down the Sri Lankan workers up on the roof - tile roof is installed rain or shine. Donald & the crew lift the Calicutt Tile up to Nimal & Shamira for installation.

Day 15: Fireplace built and bathroom revision

A traditional Sri Lankan fireplace uses cocunut husks as
fuel for everyday cooking. Since the Galvanized Steel Frame cannot burn adding
a fireplace is no problem for the house. Final coat on the Left Side of the hosue nears completion. With the Bathroom door revision completed Stucc On Steel(SOS) Structural Stucco's are applied.

Day 16:





Today was Poiya...a Sri Lankan Holiday which falls on every full moon of
every month. Because a majority of the people here are Buddhist we fell
short on manpower. However, progress continues.

DEDICATION: The house will be dedicated (turned over to the family) this
